Tunnelling works from the new Kai Tak Station to the upgraded Diamond Hill Station, as part of the new Shatin to Central Link for MTRC. The 850 m twin tunnel alignment, with cross passages, is located in the area previously occupied by the old Kai Tak International Airport, and has been constructed using a 7.4 m diameter EPB (Earth Pressure Balance) TBM, using SFRC segments forming the concrete lining that provides better long term durability.
