TunnelPro S.p.A. has been actively involved in the Milan Metro Line M1 Extension project. From 2025 onwards, the engineering department supported Ghella in the development of the technical and economic proposal during the tender phase. Following contract award to the MIMOVE Consortium, TunnelPro was appointed to provide technical assistance services aimed at defining the specifications of the TBM — a 10.11 m diameter EPB machine designated for the excavation of the main section of the works, consisting of a tunnel approximately 3.3 km in length. The assignment also includes the preparation of construction layout drawings related to the TBM assembly and launch phases, the preliminary design of site installations, and the study of the typical tunnel cross-section.
In parallel, TunnelPro is delivering specialist consultancy on the geological aspects of the project and ground conditioning methods, while providing operational support to the site in the procurement of materials and equipment. The contract provides the analysis of potential methodological, logistical and organizational optimizations related to mechanized tunnelling operations, as well as the design of the TBM assembly, launch and dismantling methodology and the definition of all excavation operating procedures.
