The MTB (Mobile Tunnel Borer) is a new machine concept, designed together with the parent company Master Drilling, that guarantees maximum efficiency and versatility inside a mine, but also in the particular conditions of civil constructions where it becomes competitive even for reduced excavation lengths.
Its main features are the following: all main components are assembled on crawlers, assembly takes a few days and requires no special equipment.
The current version can construct tunnels with a diameter of 4.5 m or 5.5 m and support the rock through wire mesh and bolts.
Since October 2018, MTB prototypes are being tested and improved in a tuff quarry in Italy and in a Platinum mine in South Africa.
